Rutland Telecom’s goal is to deliver a fibre optic broadband solution across Rutland within 10 years and make Rutland Telecom the number one first choice for Broadband Services across Rutland’s homes, businesses, and public offices.

From simple beginnings, we have challenged the status quo and seen the results of our efforts opening up the telecoms sector to new, flexible, and innovative SMEs just like ourselves. The critical acclaim that we have received is humbling, yet our approach and reasoning is reflected everywhere we look throughout the UK and beyond: in the aspirations of governing bodies both political and regulatory; in best practice business approaches driving innovation, sustainability, and efficiencies; and most importantly in the product and service buying public who are taking new technologies and their own understanding of economic impacts, and demanding better of us all as providers.

ICT

Rutland Telecom started working with the residents and businesses of Rutland in 2007. Founded by David Lewis and Mark Melluish, it merged with Rutland ICT in 2009 to become Rutland’s one-stop-shop internet services and support.

Broadband

Since then, we have developed significant expertise in delivering to the Rural Broadband agenda. In 2010 we completed an unprecedented UK project that ‘unbundled’ phone lines to offer a ‘non-BT’ FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) service delivering superfast broadband. We did this in partnership with residents of Lyddington village.

Fibre Optic Solutions

More recently in 2011 we have delivered a FTTH (Fibre To The Home) service to another local village – Hambleton.

Consultancy

Our technical and community expertise, valuable to other communities and organisations across the UK forms the backbone of our Consulting Service. We work with Local Authorities, Businesses, Schools and Housing Associations, and direct with rural communities throughout the that are in need of improved broadband services.
