Ofcom voluntary code of practice

Rutland Telecom operates within the requirements of OFCOM’s Voluntary Code for residential broadband services, and aims to:

  1. Provide customers at the point of sale with an accurate estimate of the maximum speed that the line can support
  2. Ensure all sales and promotion staff have a proper understanding of the products they are selling
  3. Resolve technical issues to improve speed and offer customers the choice to move onto a lower speed package when estimates given are inaccurate
  4. Provide consumers with information on usage limits and alert customers when they have breached them.

Where our services are delivered via copper, our estimates for broadband speeds at the point of sale are based on data supplied to us by BT Openreach. Where estimates are inaccurate, this inaccuracy would be due to problems beyond our control. Rutland Telecom accepts no liability with respect to inaccurate estimates of line speed when based on Openreach data relating to copper line length.
