Superfast long-range wireless broadband
Our long-range wireless broadband service overcomes the problem of long phone lines and poor broadband speeds. We look to deliver services this way when it is not economical to install fibre-optic networks.
You do not need a phone line. Typical speeds possible are 10-25Mbps. Our wireless network covers the following villages:

Manton (Rutland Water South Shore)
Pay a one-off £150 installation fee and we will install the long-range wireless equipment necessary to deliver Next Generation broadband services to your property subject to survey.
Installation
Installation costs £150 and is normally completed within 1 week of registration, subject to survey.
The service terminates in a network socket in any chosen location in your home (outside wall). Modifying the wiring to terminate in a different location is charged as an extra and can be quoted at the time of survey.
Your broadband download speed is estimated to be at least 10Mbps. A more accurate estimate will be given at the time of survey. We expect this speed to increase to 25Mbps and higher in the near future.
Survey
As part of the installation we conduct a survey to check whether your property can receive a signal from one of our antennae.
The equipment installed on the outside of your house remains the property of Rutland Telecom and is operated under our licence with Ofcom, the industry regulator.
Telephone
If you want to run your telephone calls over our network you do not need a phone line
You do not have to transfer phone services to us but we charge the same monthly fee whether you use our network for calls or not.
This means you can either keep your BT landline for calls, or cancel it, thereby saving on line rental, and port the telephone phone number into our network.
If using our network for calls you would need to purchase VoIP handsets to make calls. Details of our recommended handsets can be found here. You can keep your phone number or have a new phone number (any area code). You can even run calls using free software and a headset on your PC meaning you do not need a telephone at all!
You can take your VoIP phones anywhere and they will still work with your home telephone number provided they are connected to a broadband router.
Monthly cost
The £35/month cost for fast broadband and calls is for residential users only.
Business users pay £45 + VAT per month.
The Pilton service is £50/month.
All customers must pay by Direct Debit. We charge monthly rental in advance and call charges in arrears.

Planning permission
Planning permission is your responsibility. Permission is required if the equipment is installed above the ridge height of your roof or if you are in a conservation area or if the building is listed. No planning permission is required if the equipment is below the ridge height of the roof.
Contract & Terms and conditions
There is no long-term contract but our service is subject to 30 days notice and a disconnection fee of £65. Pilton service is as per Hambleton (12 month contract & additional terms). Please see our terms and conditions and Fair Usage Policy
